Help for Relationship Problems

We humans are social animals and a fundamental need for us is to be known by and connected to others.  On the other hand, relationships are hard.

Really hard.

I regularly help people who are wanting to grow in their relationships.  The typical themes include:

  • struggling with trust
  • wanting to be more open and less guarded
  • being more true to yourself in your relationships
  • finding yourself being overly agreeable and then later feeling resentful (factors related to people pleasing or the “nice guy syndrome”)
  • wanting to be more open but instead finding yourself distancing and shutting down
  • wanting to trust more but finding yourself being codependent or overly worried about being abandoned

There are many types of patterns like these.  The good news is that these patterns are changeable.  You are not fated to continue to keep showing up the same way in relationships.

Note: I don’t do couples therapy, but I can help people with relationship problems in individual psychotherapy.
